3/9 (SITO.OB) Single Touch Systems Enhances Cell Phone Patents
(PublicWire.com) — Single Touch Systems, Inc (OTCBB: SITO) is announcing we have been granted another US Patent adding to our extensive patent portfolio related to the mobile communications industry.
Currently, manufacturers must produce and retailers must inventory multiple versions of each mobile device, adding cost and limiting flexibility of choice among consumers. Changing carriers is already difficult for the consumer as a result of term contracts and is compounded by carrier specific handsets that must be purchased and cannot be used when changing carriers.
This recent patent grant relates to technology which allows a retailer to offer one version of their hottest selling phone to their customers and give the customer the ability to select their preferred carrier from that single phone.
In essence, one day you can be using Verizon’s (NYSE: VZ) service and the next day you could select Sprint’s (NYSE: S) service.
