3/9 (IWEB.OB) IceWEB Adds AES Encryption to Iplicity Platform
(PublicWire.com) — IceWEB Inc (OTCBB: IWEB), a provider of appliances and components for cloud storage systems, today announced that it has integrated AES-256 encryption at the folder level into its Iplicity product line.
The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) had been widely adopted by government, commerce and other organizations to provide data encryption protection. The standard comprises three block ciphers, AES-128, AES-192 and AES-256 and specifies that each AES cipher has a 128-bit block size, with encryption key sizes of 128, 192 and 256 bits, respectively.
The integration of AES into Iplicity at the folder level allows organizations to be more confident about utilizing cloud storage systems for their confidential data, as encrypted volumes or folders can only be mounted and accessed if the correct authorisation is provided. The unencrypted data can still be backed up or managed via Iplicity system utilities.
The capability has been built into the Iplicity platform and is immediately available at no extra charge to existing or new IceWEB customers but must be implemented by an IceWEB Professional Services team or by an IceWEB Certified Reseller Partner.
